Raw honey contains phytonutrients - Phytonutrients are found in plants and their job is to protect the plant from any danger/harm. So the phytonutrients found in raw honey provides antioxidants as well as the antibacterial and anti-fungal factors. These, therefore, enables the honey to have some anti-cancer affects as it boosts your immune system. However, processed honey that you will typically find in a supermarket, has been pasteurised. What this means is that the honey has been warmed up by a certain temperature in order to kill the “bacteria”, to prevent the food from having the vitamins and minerals which makes it a super food and to stop you from reaping the benefits of it.
